- To reduce the pH value and carbonate hardness, add a maximum of 25 ml to 100 l of aquarium water. Repeat this process every 2 to 3 days until the desired carbohydrate level is reached. This treatment method will reduce the carbonate hardness by approximately 2° dH each time. During the treatment, the water must be aerated and any CO2 supply interrupted. Through regular water tests, ensure that the carbonate hardness does not fall below 2 to 4° dH, otherwise a dangerous drop in the pH value can occur. Long-term regulation of KH and pH: Add 5 ml to 100 l of aquarium water every 2 to 3 days. This reduces the KH by approx. 0.4° dH per application. This regular treatment results in a gradual and permanent reduction in carbohydrate levels.
