Tempered glass:
Glass that has undergone treatment to improve its properties. Thermal toughening consists of bringing the glass to a very high temperature (approximately 700°C), then cooling it rapidly. This process favors the appearance of tensions in depth and that of compression on the surface of the glass. All this has the effect of improving its resistance to shocks. It is 2 to 5 times stronger than simple glass and greatly reduces the danger of glass. In the event of breakage, the glass breaks into small pieces and not into large sharp sections.
