Un nouveau enregistrement inspirant d'une œuvre chorale classique par des musiciens distingués. Un produit neuf scellé m'a été livré dans juste quelques jours après avoir passé ma commande.

L'œuvre de Messiah d'Haendel est toujours ce qu'elle devrait être : une pure spiritualité britannique, sans excès ni emphase théâtrale, mais plutôt une grande cantate ecclésiastique telle que Haendel l'avait conçue. Tout est au mieux : le chœur de voix blanches, les chanteurs, l'orchestre avec des instruments d'époque et la direction musicale. Même la très bonne version de Trevor Pinnock descend d'un niveau. Les disques en vinyle sont excellents. Je le recommande vivement.

Cette présentation en vinyle laisse beaucoup à désirer. La prise de son comporte un bruit de fond important qui gâche l'écoute. Les interprétations sont moyennes. En conclusion, c'est un fraude et une grande déception pour les amateurs d'un oratorio.

Enregistrement excellent, bien que ce ne soit pas une version avec des refrains véritables pour Soprano, Alto, Ténor et Bas. Pour cette raison, moins adapté si on se prépare à un concert de chorale. Je devais réaliser qu'il s'agissait du chœur du King's College Cambridge qui aurait les trebles chantant et pas des altos. Pas d'inconvénient pour l'enregistrement,
