J'ai eu des expériences mélangées avec Rattle, je suis donc prudent ces jours-ci et je recherche bien (mais l'homme est SUPER connaissant et accompli). Cette enregistrement est EXCELLENT. Le point de référence est censé être Jochum sur DG et il est également excellent, mais pour un enregistrement plus moderne, celui de Rattle est top niveau. La batterie est plus audible que les autres enregistrements, mais l'interprétation est plus immédiate et urgente. Je l'aime bien. Il y a aussi beaucoup de détails. L'autre enregistrement à vérifier pour cette œuvre est celui de Blomstedt avec San Francisco. Sinon, c'est tout pour le top niveau.

J'ai beaucoup d'albums CD enregistrés par Simon Rattle. C'est la meilleure enregistrement de Carmina Burana que j'aie jamais entendue. Les tempos sont un peu rapides - l'intégralité de l'enregistrement est rempli d'énergie.

Rattle a voulu se faire original en changeant les tempi et les rythmes, ce qui donne une sorte de relecture de cet ouvrage si apprécié. Mais cela n'était pas nécessaire, surtout avec des résultats aussi médiocres. Les passages calmes sont trop calmes, tandis que les forts sont trop fortifs à l'écoute. Les tempi sont encore pires; ceux qui étaient lents ont été prolongés pour ennuyer et, avant tout, les rapides ont été hâtés de sorte qu'ils sont souvent simplement ridicules, comme si on voulait se dépêcher d'en finir. Pour mon goût, n'importe quelle version, quel que soit son prix, avec une orchester ou un chef inconnu est sûrement meilleure que celle-ci. Je n'ai même pas pu écouter la moitié de l'album.

Très bonne qualité d'enregistrement et pour ce type de musique qui ne convient pas à tout le monde, très agréable. Le livret est également bien fait, on peut ainsi comprendre ce que chaque chanson parle et mieux suivre les saisons et les moments de joie.
